Sounds like they having very good success at training their feeder ;~).
At the other extreme, if I notice fry, I might crumble their flake food a
bit, and that's all. Your feeding regiment will encourage them, and even
given very little encouragement, Brichardi are the Tanganyikan Guppies of
the tropical fish world, and will run you out of your tanks. ymmv
