Just an intro...
A guy was selling his complete tank set up for dirt cheap because he
is being deployed come Sunday. I will move the tank in tomorrow
(Fri). I'm excited and a little scared. I've never had cichlids
(these are african malawi guys) and I hope nobody dies just because
I'm inexperienced. They are soooooooo pretty. My experience has
been with a 15 gal community tank.

I moved furniture to make a space for the tank. Now I've spent
several hours on the net looking at sites on how to move fish
safely, aclimating fish, and about cichlids in general. I thought a
cichlid newsgroup would help too. I'm glad these guys are generally
hearty and that they like a high pH. For the move, I will try to
take as much of the old tank water as possible.

Wish me luck. :-)

Linda and the zoo.
Rest of the zoo: a parrot, a cat, a canary, a rabbit, a fishtank
and 6 chinchillas.
