No, you can have more. I've got 5 yellow labs and 4 exasperatus in a 29,
I just have to watch them closely for over-aggression. The key to
overstocking is correct aquascaping.

Read the post again- he has 20 (twenty) assorted African cichlids
already in his 29 gallon, that is like 100 - 140 inches of adult fish in
a 29 gallon tank.

I have 19 in a 50UK gall tank and am seriously thinking about another filter
right now before they grow - already have a Fluval 304 and another one going
in within the next couple of weeks...no more fish going in there....
