Breeding that is. I have a gold female that was laying eggs like crazy,
but kept swapping out potential mates until I found a male. He's a huge
green male that succeeded in 2 spawnings. I moved the babes to another tank
a few times. She then left a few batches of unfertilized eggs over the next
few months. They did actively take care of them until they started rotting
and were discarded. It's been 6 months and no eggs at all. Just cold
stopped. They still act very territorial about the cave wall where they
watched the eggs in the past, so they still act like a pair. They are alone
in the tank. I wonder if the male is too old? He's twice as big. But even
so she stopped producng eggs completely. I do water changes and PH checks
and such with no help. Anyone have any ideas why they stopped, or what to do
to get them going again?

Try water changes with colder water and lower pH. See if it does
anything. My severums spawned once when I did this and it wasn't on
purpose, so who knows.

hey... when i had green severums a few years ago they would spawn very
often but the fry never survived.

one problem is that golden sevs are nutoriusly hard to pair up (but it
doesnt sound like thats your problem)

try uping the feeding on live and frozen food (and green food.. wokred
for me). lower the water temp a few degrees and shorten the time the
lights are on.
