Here are some parameters to check and what is recommended:
*Ammonia/nitrites- 0
*Nitrates- under 50 ppm
*pH- stable (stability is more important than chasing numbers here)
*KH- 50 ppm + (this is important for pH stability)
*GH- 100 ppm+ (this is important for osmoregulation which can manifest
itself in swim bladder problems that cause floating)
