If you have live plants, try Flourish Excel by Seachem. I had a real
bad algae problem in my tank. I made a few changes that got rid of all
of it.
1) Started using Flourish Excel
2) Increased the 10k light. Be sure it's 10k light.
3) Got some SAEs (Siamese Algae Eater). Be very careful getting one of
these. There are 4 species that all look quite similar and are usually
all sold under similar if not the same name. You most definately don't
want a Chinese Algae Eater as they are quite agressive and don't eat
algae. The flying fox and false siamese are also not so good at eating
algae. They get to be about 6 in. so add with care.
If you don't have live plants, the problem is much easier to remedy.
Your LFS should have plenty of products to help.
