Hi all,

I was just feeding my fish before bed when I saw this. My Betta was
resting on the bottom of the tank diagonally _across_ one of the
Cory cats! Of course, as soon as they saw me coming with food they
all started swimming about, but I couldn't believe that the Cory was
just letting the Betta lay on it like that.

It was pretty funny, and cute. Too bad that I didn't have a camera
ready because that was priceless. :-)

I've learned to keep my digital camera nearby for easy grabbing. I just put
new batteries in it. :)

Bettas do make buddies with other fish, and sometimes they even "hang
out" together.
Currently I have a Peacock Eel with one of my male Bettas (black
Crowntail male), and he will often drape his fins over the back of the
eel. It happens all the time, but like your Betta, as soon as I come
anywhere near the tank when they're hanging out like that one of them
takes off.
It's almost like they don't want photographic evidence of their
friendship.
A fish buddy I had yrs back had a male Betta he named "Tuffy", because
it beat up everything put with him, except his Cory buddies.
He even had pics of his male Betta draping his fins over one of the
cories.
You don't often get a friendship like this, but it does happen now and
then.
Think yourself quite lucky and get the camera!! LOL
I better take my own advice and keep mine next to the tank with the
eel and betta. = )~
