Hi, I'm new to the group today and new to fish in general. While
cleaning my 20gal tank, I was rinsing the filter in a bowl and there
are two teeny tiny little swimmers in there about the size of an 1/8
inch piece of cut thread. Can they be babies? I have two gold minnows,
one silver minnow and six danios. I haven't seen any eggs anywhere or
any odd behavior. What are these little swimmers?

Babies for sure....they got sucked up in your filter intake - has
happened to me before.....they may or may not come from your fish or
might be eggs carried in on any plants you might have added.....If
you've returned them to the tank try putting some sort of cover over
your filter intake such as a toe of a tight or stocking or any other
fine mesh.....

Or get a foam or sponge filter or make a foam or sponge filter to go
over yourt filters pickup tube end.' I like a foam or sponge filter
as yu can create more surface are so suciton is still there jbut not
as concentrated in an area to present a possible situation for a tiny
baby to get stuck onto.
