It's not possible to comment on the quality of your local stock, though
generally local breeders have a better handle on the situation. Buying
on-line might be hit & miss, as these places can buy off-shore for a
significant profit margin, and the fish are often fine in species tanks.
Mix them up with other fish, and the exposure to pathogens takes their
weak systems down. That has been my limited experience.
