Brevity snip.

Why didn't you quarantine them? Any new fish from anyplace can be infested
with parasites or diseased.

Evidently quarantine of a new is not as important to see how it looks
in the display tank.......Folks that complain about a sick fish
messing up their other fish have no rrom to complain if they di dnot
QT that fish befroe introduction into the Display tank. Its easy to
get a sick fish from ANYWHERE it happens its natural, its
life.........but vendors sure do not make a living if they sell sick
fish, so evidetnly its something that has happend from shiping to
receit of fish........Hey even the fish Wally World gets in are fine
when they arrrive, its after that they beocme pityfull once customers
and wally world gets to play with them...............Try sending
Petsolutions a friendly email or even a phone call.Odds are they will
honor their warranty......and buy a tank and filter and heater to use
as a QT if you planon adding any more fish.

I'm going to a fish show Sunday.
They'll be lots of breeders there with their fish for sale.
I already have quarantine tanks going just in case I find some good
angelfish.
They could be from a top notch breeder, and they'd still go through
quarantine here.
I recently bought a bunch of fancy Gups for my daughter.
They were on sale a dollar a fish. They went through quarantine with
one loss. A female died after the 2 week mark. However, it wasn't
disease. She had some sort of intestinal rupture and it was quite
nasty.
Price makes no difference, and neither does who I'm buying them
from....they should be brought into the house like you suspect they
might be sick.
I don't treat with meds right off the bat, as I believe medicating is
a last resort.
Observation is first. If something shows up, then the appropriate
action takes place in the qurantine tank.

It's usually a lot cheaper to treat in a TW tank. A QT tank doesn't need to
be large.

They don't even really have to spend on a tank. I've used those plastic
storage things from Wally World with an old seeded filter. Just clean and
store it away when you're done with it. Well worth the $3 or $4 I paid for
it.
