Some are some are not..........most species of gourami do not like their own kind of the same sex, but usually their behavior is not as bad as say a Betta. Fish as well as most animals do not recognize sisters, brothers, mothers fathers sons daughters as that when it comes to its natural environment. As far as say a Beta is concerned that other male betta is an enemy even if it was the bettas son or daddy..same with "some" gourami's.however the female sex seems to be more peacefull among its own kind than most males do in general.
