I have two juvenile moors. One began to change color; a couple of
scales, spotting & streaking on fins. I immediately stopped feeding
him anything that contained "color enhancers" (you have to read the
ingredient list to be sure), and in a few weeks, he's returned to
black.
Now, they are eating:
Aquarian goldfish flake (excellent "natural" stuff, the fish love it)
green peas (I keep a bag in the freezer; defrost 4 at a time)
Wardly goldfish crumbles (made by Hartz)
the water sprite planted in the tank (they love it & grows fast, too)
I also feed them herbivore stuff (but I wouldn't recommend the current
brand.)
They are active, growing, and velvet black with this diet.
Make sure they eat their vegetables!
