I recently added a small handful of new plants to my well planted, 10
gallon tank. Two juvenile (barely over 2") broadtail moors, are also
living in the tank. (Don't get upset, I plan to upgrade to 25-30
gallon as they grow) They are very happy, have great appetites, are
active, gentle w/ each other, and are very social with me. The tank
has been running over two months, planted, and was cycled with a
cichlid convalescing after being beaten terribly by a tank-mate in a
friend's tank.
My water quality is good, I am meticulous with my maintenance, and am
fairly sure the Ich came in on the new plants I added this weekend. I
treated my little friends with 'Clout', the very few white spots they
had are gone, but I am still a bit worried about Bullwinkle. When I
was staring at them obsessing about the Ich, I noticed that he seems a
bit fuzzy along the crest of one gill. My research tells me that
this is a symptom of flukes, which 'Clout' is supposed to treat, but it
has run it cycle & we are ready for the water change, so why is this
white, fuzziness still here?
Because I am running a bio-wheel filter, the carbon and floss had to be
removed together, so I am loathe to treat again, and leave my poor fish
w/ full filter function for an additional 24 hours. I am not even
sure Bullwinkle has a problem, now that the ich is gone. I have only
had him two/three weeks. His appetite is excellent, he is not
listless, and I got to the ich very quickly. He did have themore
advanced case (Rocky only had two/three spots), and I did observe him
flicking his body around a bit, (no scratch, thought), once or twice.
Can anyone help?
