Poor, poor Turdstie. Crossposting ?
The no-friend troll made the mistake of venturing into a newsgroup that
regularly ROASTS trolls.
We eat 'em for breakfast, by the dozen.
Unfortunately, for poor , young Turdstie, one reg. ( errm .. myself) keeps
goldfish .. as well as being a DEVOUT Everton
fan .
I've only perused this ng a little, given my interest in keeping a large
tank of coldwater fish. From reading past posts
... you ( Tynk) seem to be a damn BRILLIANT advisor !
I'm a beginner with goldfish ... but, 'cos I've read a few books .... I
like to believe that I know EVERYTHING !
From reading the posts here ... I now realise that I do NOT know everything
about keeping a tank full of
coldwater fish !
Anyway, all the very best to you & yours Tynk !!!
It's now past midnight here ( Yorkshire ) ......... & I have to wake up
early tomorrow morning, to deliver
Tristie's piglets.

Zeb....
Aren't you a breath of fresh air in a room full of stink!
You have already learned the best lesson of all in this hobby, and
that's that we *never* know it all. There's always something new to
learn.
I'm more of a warm water fish keeper, but so many folks need basic,
general info on Goldies and can't find it.
Reel McKoi and some others are more experts when it comes to detailed
specifics on goldies and koi, so I tip my hat to them for any of those
questions that you may come up with.
Do you keep any warm water tropicals too, or are you strictly cold
water?
When I get my fish room back (daughter's room currently), I'd love to
have a 75g with Panda Goldies.
The local shop has a good source for Goldies and and the best Pandas
I've seen ( other than right from a quality breeder). He carries a few
types or color morphs that aren't as common, so you really get to see
how gorgeous some of these goldies can be.
He had some black and orange fancies that stopped me in my tracks one
day.
They were fully grown, fins were perfect, in a tank large enough for
the to swim around with ease and not be bumping into 20 other fish.
Just gorgeous.
This is how customers should see goldies, instead of young ones
cramped into small tanks like they were sardines.
There's a fabulous pet shop out by where my son lives that also
gorgeous goldies (and koi too).
Their tanks are spacious, and they're not jamming young ones into the
tanks....they have room to swim. = O
Then they have these wall tanks with medium sized and also fully grown
ones as well.
All different types as well. A very nice display for both fish and
customer, as well as great conditions for the fish.
You don't often see this much thought or care put into goldies, and
that should change.

==========================
Pet Supermarket used to get in beautiful fancy GF of all kinds when they
first opened. Now all I see there are truly bad culls. There is nowhere
locally to get "good" fancies anymore. :(

Cold only, Tynk.
The truth is .... I never had an interest in keeping fish, until just over
a year ago.
Wierd ... but, TRUTH is ..... a a friend of my wife's asked her to take
care of their pair
of goldfish, when they went on holiday. We ended up keeping them. Then my
wife wanted
more .... & so we got a *tank*. We started with a bowl .... & now it's got
a little bit expensive.
It has escalated , since then. We now have about 15 coldwater fish, that
are getting bigger
& bigger .... in a huge *display* tank.
There are a lot of questions that I'd like to ask about keeping goldfish &
our Black Moors
etc.....
I'm a definite 100% learner , regarding keeping goldfish.
I look forward to reading any further advice / information that you may
have .... or that you are
willing to share.
All the very best to you & yours,
Thank you very much for your help/advice.
Cheers,
Zeb. B.
