When I fed my tank this morning my feather duster retracted its crown into
the tube and has not come out again. This evening I saw my Mexican Turbo
snail walking on the tube. When looking closer it looks like the crown end
of the tube is crimped but not completely closed, almost an hour glass
shape. Should the tube end be round? I can't remember what it looked like
before. Could the snail have crimped the end? Can I gently open the end a
little or should I let the feather duster be.

Mine was similarly 'damaged' but returned to normal in 2 days.

That happens all the time to my feather dusters. They don't have any
problem pushing it back open.

Thank you for your help. It has started coming back out although it is much
more skittish about movement (or maybe not as hungry) as it was before the
snail incident.
