Please log in for more thread options Hi all,
Not sure what this is, I might guess some type of anemone, but I don't
have any lights that would support an anemone. It's about 3/4" across.
Sorry about the pics, best I can do with my cam.
More importantly, good or bad for overall happiness of tank?

Looks like Aiptasia, a common "pest" anemone. Reproduces quickly, spreads
all over the tank, can sting some corals. Hard to kill.

Not all anemone-like creatures rely on photosynthesis. Plenty are just
filter feeders from the water column.

Lots of reef keepers try to "control" their population. Very similar to a
weed in a garden. Not especially harmful in any real sense, but if you don't
like the way they look it'll take some effort to keep the population down.
