I have been using a USHIO UHI-250W 10K double ended Metal halide bulb
for years now. Has anyone tried the Hamilton Technology 10K or 14K
bulbs?
Any feedback on them and I am thinking of switching to the 14K bulb,
any feed back on this as to color rendition or coral growth?
Thanks
Rob

Rob,

I have a DE MH set up using 2 - 250w bulbs and one 150w bulb.

I think Ushio and Hamilton both make excellent bulbs. The Hamilton are
more pleasing to my taste from a bluer appearance for the 250w bulbs.
As far as the coral are concerned its not a big deal either way. It
depends on your budget.

The 250W DE bulbs have gotten great growth. I would prefer 2 54w T5's
actinics instead of the 150 20K. The mh full 20K do not bring out
colors as well.
