Another cool dwarf angel is the Potters Angel. I love the look of that
fish, but don't have the option of getting one with a Flame Angel and a
Coral Beauty already in my system.

A Coral Beauty is what I eventually settled on. This guy is almost
totally purple, too, I was astounded. Had to have him.:)

Sounds great! I think the Fluval (or Magnum) may be a waste of resources.
Add more live rock as per Marc's suggestion and let the rock and the skimmer
take care of your tank. Live rock is the best bio filter anyway. If you have
bio balls in your sump that helps also. I had a Fluval 404 on my 72g reef
system and it did do a good job but was a pain to rip apart and maintain.
The hoses clog easily with uneaten food and every time I'd turn it back on
after cleaning the filter all this pollution would shoot back into the tank.
The Fluval is now retired in the garage.

Since removing the Fluval, my skimmer (Remora Pro) is really kicking in and
doing a fantastic job. I found through trial and error that a canister
filter is definitely not needed in a reef system. YMMV

Hello all hobbyists...I am hoping someone will have the time to reply
to my message..

After several visits to my LFS and thorough internet research...it
seems everyone has an opinion of set up for a reef tank. I am going to
be setting up a FLOWR tank in a 46 gallon bowfront. Here is what I
think I am going to do for a set up...Yeas and Nays will be appreciated

Lighting: Aligns 10,000k Daylight and 460nm Actinic together with
Lunar LightsT to create an energy-efficient, 24-hour lighting system
that's packed with value. Configured with our state-of-the-art, SunPaq
Lamps, it produces 3-times the light output of standard fluorescents
with double the life (12 months). The 36" Satellite features 1-96w Dual
actinic, 1-96w dual daylight, 1-Lunar Lights with separate power supply
and a sleek, low-profile powder coated aluminum hood. What timer should
I get?

Filtration: 40lbs of Live Rock. 20lbs of Aragalive Reef Sand 20)Carib
Sea). 25lbs of live sand. Instead of a wet/dry - no pre-drilled
holes, I am going to use a Fluval 4 and Emperor 280. I also am going
to get a Protein Skimmer. However suggestions on brand or make are
needed. I was going to get a Seaclone but the reviews seem to be
fairly negative. I would prefer to have a moderately priced one and
nothing that is going to require a great deal of space.

I am content with Polyp Coral and Mushroom Coral and hope to have just
about 4-5 fish (Clown, Flame Angel, Royal Grammas and maybe a Tang)

So, any suggestions you can give me or recommendations will surely help
in a big way.

Thanks,
Brian
