I'm having a problem with my tree coral (type is Capnella maybe?). I
think there's some sort of thing growing on it which is attacking it,
but I want to make sure it's not part of the coral. Take a look at
pictures at:

http://www.benslade.com/pictures/2005/aug/reeftank/

You can see a tube like thing growing on the main part of tree coral
pointed to by the red arrow. It's a little hard to see what's going on,
but the main part of the tree coral is bent over almost horizontal to
the right (as you view it) with the tube thing coming over the top.
Note, the little tree to your left which is the same species. That's
what the main tree coral is supposed to look like.

I'm debating removing the tube parasite thing, probably by snipping it.
All opinions welcome.

Thanks

Can't see what is going on at all - can you not get a closer pic?

Do you see the white tube like thing encrusted with gravel that's
pointed to by the red arrow? I'm not sure how to get any closer or make
it any clearer.

Isn't that some kind of a tube worm? Its only a guess, but I wouldn't think
its preying on the coral.
