I have been running a 10G tank for a little over 2 years now and it
consists of 5lbs of live rock, 1 false percula, 1 yellow tailed blue
damsel and 1 left handed hermit, plus a lot of little black
unidentified very fast reproducing snails.
Here is my question, last week I broke my fluval that I have running a
fresh water tank and when ordering replacement parts I spontaneously
decided to order a cheap protein skimmer with out doing any other
research on it. I ordered a, don't get mad, AS Visi-jet. Minutes
after placing the order I Googled it and found little more then bad
reviews. I also found out that this is a in-tank skimmer. Does
anyone know if this can be set up as a hang on? I definately don't
have the room for a skimmer in my tank.
If these are really junk like I have read and if it can only be
mounted in tank I will be RA'ing it and getting a Prism I think
instead. I realized the Prizm isn't the most highly favored either but
I have read in here that it is ok for a small tank. I am trying to
fight a little algae problem(little bit of red, green, and bubble
algae) sorry for not bein gvery specific, I have been out of the scene
for a year or more now and starting to get back the interest I had
when I started the tank. I have no LFS around me anymore that carry
marine livestock so everything must be bought out of province and
either picked up or flown in. Towards the end of April my little bro
is coming home from university and I will be getting him to pick me up
10lbs of Fiji LR and a nice little custodian package. I hope to have
the water and everything nice and clean for that.
