I think I'm having some serious problems with my Sebae. First off it was
white (and what I thought really pretty) when I got it. It took up
residence, at first, in the back of my tank wedged between a piece of LR and
the back wall. Over the last few weeks, it has meandered around the tank
and just doesn't seem to be able to find a place to its liking. Is it
looking for a shady spot to recover from being bleached? I've got plenty of
nooks and crannies for it to get into if that's the case (75 gal with approx
95 lbs of LR).....or maybe it needs a nudge in the right direction?? Well,
on to what I figure to be the more serious problem. Over the last couple of
days he's really been shrunken up. Very few of the tentacles are extended,
and there have been a couple hunks of what look like rock (waste perhaps??)
come out of his oral disc. Right now he's sitting under my power head in
the substrate, but hasn't anchored himself. Actually, he hasn't anchored
himself in a while. Anybody have any idea, from what I've posted, if I can
save the fella? I just want him to be healthy and it doesn't look good so
far.

usually, when anenomes wont anchor, the water quality and/or water flow is
not aqequate for them. i suggest testing your water params, and maybe doing
a small water change and see how that goes.

Thanks for the tip. The water change is something i was getting ready to
do. Right now, my levels are as follows:
pH ~7.8
Nitrate ~20
Nitrite ~1.0
SG is approaching 1.026

I'm probably stressing the bugger out eh?

Hey Matt, What kind of lighting do you have. A Sebae requires good
lighting so he may be moving for better light.

eesh, get this up asap! i keep my pH at 8.1 all the time.

ive gotten this high before, but i try not too. water change is in your
future :D

this one is probably whats stressin him out. thats HIGH man. i suggest 50%
water change ASAP!

try and get this to around 1.023 or .022.

oh yeah, you probably have ammonia as well. also, moderate to high light (i
have mine in a 29g under 130watts PC light + 20watts TRUE 03 anctinic floro
and hes mighty healthy).

like i said, water change, retest and report back. hope this helps!
