A general rule is 25% of the tank volume per month. If you
have a 50g tank, 25% of 50g would be changed.
There are lots of ways of accomplishing this task, and some
change more while others change less, or do so more
frequently or less frequently. The important thing is water
quality, and a good routine tends to achieve successful results.
