raining,

the nitrates were 20ppm on both tanks so i'm doing another change today. i
didn't forget about the spike. sure enough i got one.

the canister filter developed a leak that i think i fixed. Must be due to
moving pump around or increased pressure on effluent. I tighten all the
joints but they don't tighten as good as they used to. need to replace hoses
i guess.

still waiting on the bio cube.

I'd pick up some seachem stability or some grungy water from somebody's
established tank. Maybe you don't have the correct bacterial load in
your tank. I fought nitrates for months and things went to zero about a
month after adding seachem's product. I know of other people that had a
similar experience.
