After purchasing some fish (sarassa) on ebay, some have been dying.
Initially, I thought that I might have physically damaged them with
the net, while transferring them to the tank.

2-3" overall length.
The appearance is quite odd - not like any previous way I've found to
kill fish, a black 'bruise' appears, and the affected fish dies relatively
shortly afterwards, often contorted.

Is this due to bad conditions when shipping?
The water smelt fairly bad when it arrived.

(vendors vary, some Koi I bought at the same time were comparatively
brilliantly packed, and arrived happy)
