Please log in for more thread options I'm thinking about going over to pressurised co2 injection for my Juwel 400
planted community tank.
At the moment it has a gravel substrate, Amazon swords, Red Bacopa, Vallis
(both straight and twisted), Hygrophillia(sp?) of three types, Java fern,
and Cabomba.
Fish are 6 Angels, a Clown Loaches, 7 corys, 2 (remaining) danios, and a
variable number of Platies.
I use crushed corel in the internal filter to prevent pH crash (it happens
frequently here), a external Rena XP3 and 15w UV.
Lights are 1 x Arcadia Original Tropical and 1 x Arcadia Frehwater T8'.
Both 36w and fitted with reflectors.
I never seem to get rid of algae (compared to my upstairs small tank 60l)
and am currently using Flourish twice weekly and Excel daily in recommended
doses. (I also have Juwel 240l, 60l, and a wee acrylic 50l thingy. Two
Excels and a Flourish last this lot about two/three months)
So, to the question.
Considering the tank has gravel for a substrate, is it worth me paying out
for something like a JBL Pro Flora set ?
If so, how long does the 500g co2 bottles last ?
Sorry for the length of the post, but it's a lot (for me) of money, so I
want to get it right.
TIA,
Peter
