Please log in for more thread options Would a corydora be OK in with a betta?
I've had bettas with plecos before and they were fine. It's just that a
corydora seems "busier" for want of a better word than a pleco usually is.
I just wondered if it would attract a bettas attention prompting it to
attack it.
I would prefer to have a corydora instead of a pleco since they seem to do
more work on eating the algae than plecos do!
Thanks for any advice.

Cories don't eat algae - they are mainly carniverous although will eat
plant matter sometimes. That being said I have heard that they live
quite happily with bettas, in fact I'm thinking of putting some cories
in with my betta at some point - but I guess it depends on the
temperemant of your betta....I managed to keep Otos in with my betta for
sometime until they ran out of algae at which point they got moved into
a more algae ridden tank....

Cory's are fine with siamese fighting fish, but don not think they eat much
algae!
For what it is worth, they are happier with a small shoal not on their own.

As the concensus shows, Cory's will be fine with your betta, as long as
he/she, you didn't state, but prob a male betta, will be fine.
I have a betta who flares as shadows, he is very agressive and has to live
on his own, :(
bare in mind you can keep differen types of cory, but make sure you have a
shoal of about 3-5 atleast,
as they enjoy and live better with the company of their own kind.
I wish you luck with your beta and cory tank,
