Please log in for more thread options Hi
My Dwarf Gourami seems to have identical blotches (white) ( look like some
sort of sore) of either side of his body....just behind the gills & fin. He
is behaving normally, but they are getting bigger. Initially I thought he
had scraped himself till I noticed it was on both sides.
They look like something trying to get out....X-files like.
His body looks a bit swollen on each side too, but that may always there...I
don't recall.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Julie

I'd bookmarked this thread in the hope any answer may be applicable for
my Gourami who had similar symptoms (just the one sore, however it
wasn't white).
I say had though, because similarly I found it dead this morning.

Sorry to hear about your loss, please accept my condolences.
In my experience I had a dwarf gourami who slipped between the heater
and aquarium glass, while I was doing maintenance. After having
switched the heater on, I noticed the dwarf gourami struggling so I
immediately switched it off and dislodged the poor guy. Sadly, he was
burned pretty bad and died after three days. What struck me is that he
was developing boil like growths on his skin.
Another dwarf I owned used to perform the dwarf gourami dance with a
krib, after some time he too had been pecked pretty badly by the male
krib, and he too died. The wound also begun swelling and eventually
looked like a blister (whitish)
Then yet another dwarf used to slam himself in a panic whenever he got
startled. He sustained many gashes against rock, but he always healed
and bore the scars of his previous collision. He lives on...
His wounds started out as raw gashes, evetually the wound would recover
itself.
I hope this sheds light on the matter.

Please log in for more thread options Yeah, both my dwarf gouramis died after having pink sores. looked like the
scales had fallen off. I tried a couple of treatments. neither worked.
