Anyone kept these little beauts? Local dealer has some in. Water here is
about pH 8 and so hard you can file yer nails on it.

Yep,

Endlers will cope with that and more. They'll happily breed too. They're not
fussy, but they are very small. When I first bought some I thought they were
babies, then found a load of real babies a few days later. Just remember
that if you try them in the community tank, any fish that can fit them in
their mouch may well have a feast. Enders males have brighter colours than
guppies. In the wild the come from only a couple of large ponds in
Venezuela. The bright colours are thought to have evolved because their
natural habitat is a pea soup of algae, so the males need to be brighter.
The species is in serious danger in the wild, as it's habitat has become
polluted by proximity to the city dump.

I'd not seen any in any LFS, I bought mine from Ebay.
