We have seven Harlequins (Rasbora Heteromorphia, I think) in the tank. They
all look like females, at least none are especially slimmer than the
others...

Anyway the other day one of the Harlequins has turned a very red in colour.
The rest are a pink colour, this one is blood red in lieu of the pink...

It is perfectly happy, fine proudly displayed, swimming about - not
bothering the other fish, not bothering anything... just bright red in
colour!

Should I be concerned?

Hi Derv.
could be that you have Heteromorpha Espei they are are very similar
Harlequins but the only way to tell is the male in Espei is more coloured
than the female the female has a higher body and fuller stomach, with
Harlequins the body markings differ between male & female with females the
leading edge of the dark marking is straight, the males is slightly rounded
at bottom with the tip extending . also there is a colour variation between
the 2 species with Espesi looking redder than normal.
Hope this helps
