The group I sampled is for software developers so most will be aware
of other parts of the Internet besides the web. Many of them write web
applications but still use nntp by preference for discussions. They
are not old dinosaurs (besides me). Even allowing for the fact that
most members are technically "with it", the 80% was unexpected by me.
I thought initially it would be an even split.

Thanks for the link Stephen, I hadn't seen that one before.
One thing that did strike me on a first lookround was the intrusion of
large (and usually offtopic) intrusive signatures !
One of them even includes an animated .gif ! at over 100k, which is a
bit of a hiatus for a dialup user.
Other than that it looks good :)

So I have to agree with Mark that
