Would a couple of jewel fish be ok in either my tank of Malawi's OR my tank
of peaceful bush fish (Ctenopoma acutirostris) and geophagus jupari?
Thanks

No!
They are as, or even more, aggressive than the malawis and would not be
happy in the Malawis harder water.
They would terrorise the bushfish & eartheaters.

They would be better off with the Malawis, you do realise that these are one
of the most aggressive freshwater species?
Although Malawi water will not be good for them as they are soft water
riverine species, in terms of aggression it will be better.

Definitely not. The only thing I've successfully kept with Hemichromis is
Doradid catfish - even then the Jewel attacked the spiny flanks of the
Catfish until his face was badly cut on the spined

You can just about keep 2 in a tank if they are a) male and female b) the
tank is large enough c) there is plenty of cover. Otherwise one (normally
the male) will kill the other
