The only thing I've successfully kept with Hemichromis is Doradid catfish - even then the Jewel attacked the spiny flanks of the Catfish until his face was badly cut on the spined You can just about keep 2 in a tank if they are a) male and female b) the tank is large enough c) there is plenty of cover.
