Hi, I have always had to clean, or change the top white filter pad in my
compact H filter every three to four days and I'm wondering if that shows
that my tank has to much dirt in it, as it says in they instructions for it
that it should only need to be changed once a week.

Is that the same for anyone else?

cheers
Scott

Hi Scott,

How do you know it needs changing? I change mine weekly and it always looks
very "green".

Well after a few days the flow rate goes right down. I have tried cleaning
the two blue sponges more often, but that didn't change anything. I also use
to clean the gravel once a week, but it was the same then as well, even
though the tank was spot less.

It probably doesn't matter to much, as I'm going to be getting a fluval 304
soon, but I want to be able to leave the tank for up to two weeks without
the filter needing to be cleaned, so if there's something I'm doing wrong I
want to find out what it is.
