I had a small outbreak of white spot and two of my loaches had had a spat so
I added Meth blue to the tank - 20 ml for a 50 gal tank - slightly under the
rec dose.
just how long does it take for the water to clear? I added it 18 hours and
the water is still navy blue - can't tell if it helped my fish or not since
I can't see them!!

Just put some good carbon in the filter and it will clear up. Without that
or large water changes it will stay blue.

What i have been using is a produt called PIMAfix and PELAfix. one of
the guys at the local pet shop steered me onto those products. any sign
of a problem i dose the tank with both of those (recommended ammounts of
course) the guy said it works good.

After i went through a bout of ick, not catching it in time and losing
about half my chiclids, i dosed the tank with this stuff and after about
3 days my fish had cleared up and were as mean to each other as they
usually are.
