Thanks for that. Got one yesterday. You say about 1" square - can I ask what size of tank that's in? How quickly does the ph rise? When it gets gungy just scrape the edges. The stuff only disolves when the pH is low and will only take the kH up to about 3 so you don't have to worry about sudden changes. Unless your pH is very low you won't see a pH rise - but it won't drop if that makes sense? It just gives enough buffering to prevent the pH crashing.
