We've got both Mollies and Platys in our tanks. I've had Platy fry survive
and grow in one of the tanks - the first survivor is now a good half inch
(approx 4 months old) and there are currently around another 3 in there. We
also have a 5g tank of Mollies and Platy fry....around 4 weeks old.

The tank where the Platy fry have survived has plenty of plants and hiding
places...(and algae).

We've got 2 female Mollies to one male and I think (not sure) around 4 males
to 2 female Platys....

IME it was add the Mollies/Platys to water and away they went.... :-)
