I'd guess that if you have a goldfish in the tank with your trops that you
keep the temperature pretty low? Most fish breeding is promoted by higher
tempertaures.

I reckon the goldfish alone would eat a good deal of the fry let alone the
other adults.

i have the temp set at around 78-80 the gold fish loves it...whats a
suitable temp for breeding.???

Yep - my goldfish in my cold water tank eat anything that will fit into
their mouths - and some things that don't! They swallow plec wafers whole -
Goodness know what the plec manages to find to eat!
