My wife and I are moving and our tank is coming with us.

I think I have this sorted. Empty the tank, fish go into bags, everything
else, well that gets packed (probably in buckets). Save half of the water.
Relocate everything. Get the substrate, then plants, filter and suchlike
back into the tank... all good fun really (not, it's a 200 litre tank)...

How well will the biological filter cope with being shut off for a few
hours? Am I likely to have water quality issues post-move?

Any other pointers to consider?

Keep the filter media wet in an open container (e.g. ice cream
tub) so they remain oxygenated, and you'll probably be fine.

http://www.gorge.org/fish/moving.shtml covers my move.

That's a grand article (thinks: should add aquarium bit to my site). Like
your good self we've moving around ten minutes, but, as you've said - wow
what an adventure!
