Toothpaste is said to work well with very small scratches.. try smearing
some on and buffing it.

the finest wet and dry paper from car accessory shops (use wet), followed
by 'T cut' paint cutter, followed by car paint polish (one with very fine
abrasive in it, since not all have that).

this has to be a labour of love, with lots of rubbing. try on an old scrap
of glass until you get the hang of it. since you might not be patient
enough and so will mess it up.

hi Cichs ,
if the glass is scratched it might not be from the magnetic cleaner as
they have a felt pad on them, but saying that dust contains minute
particles that can scratch glass with no problems, as to removeing them i
have read the suggestions so far and the one with wet & dry paper is a
good one so long as you use something like a 1200 - 1600 grade paper
wet and also use a bar of soap with it ( old car body trick ) to bring up
a super smooth finish
Alternatively have you thought about using something like a cd repair kit
they are supposed to remove scatches and fill them just a thought if it
works on cd why not on a tank ?
hope this helps
regards
Andy

a big difference between shifting plastic on a cd and glass, methinks ?
