I'm 90% sure the nutrafin removes chloramines. Though of course I don't
have my bottle with me at work. With the ammonia remover, wouldn't that
starve the appropriate bacteria? At the time I first set up my tank in
2000, shops gave me advice on using chemicals and substrates to remove
ammonia and nitrites. It seemed to me that this was going to be a
labour intensive and difficult way of doing things and hence I'm
hesitant to use any chemical approaches to the nitrogen cycle. When you
say that Aloe Vera is "supposed" to protect the slime coat on the fish,
is there any solid evidence that it does?
