Which external filter? Victor Meldrew 08-21-2007

Hi,

Haven't been here for a few years but I'd like to ask your opinions on
filters. My first ever Eheim (Professionel II) has been a pain in the
arse and I can no longer trust it. After being supplied with a rogue
hose connector assembly (that should have been a product recall but
wasn't) and then having gone through several head seals (both faults
coming perilously close to syphoning the entire contents of my 5 foot
tank) I've now had enough and need to be able to go to sleep nights.

What would you guys recommend?

Thanks.

I've had no trouble for three years from both Rena XP3 and XP2 (different
tanks).

I've always used Eheim Original Classics,2213, 2215, 2217 and
2250,2260s

I've never been tempted to move away from such a basic design!

I've still got a working 2015, 2017 after 20+ years!
