Oh good! I'm going to circulate his picture to all the local shops and tell
them not to serve him! Last time he came home with 3 bush fish (Ctenopoma
oxyrhynchus)
and 3 geophagus jupari. I had to go out and buy another tank for them! Well,
maybe they can go in that tank eventually.
Thanks everyone

My local LFS pointed to a Columbia Tetra and insisted it was an Emporer
Tetra. And she has 14 years experience? You may get healthier fish at a LFS,
but I've found most of the people there to be just as clueless as the people
selling fish a Wal-Mart or PetSmart.

I believe it is a Pangasius sutchi, Asian Shark catfish. It prefers to
be kept in shoals and likes good water movement.
According to my info source it grows up to 46cm(18in).
But beware-adults might enjoy your wee fish for their supper!

I owned one a few years ago, it seemed quite peaceful. Liked its own
reflection in the glass. I had it a few years it didn't seem to grow
too big.
