Will Lamprologus Brichardi go in a Malawi tank successfully?
Thanks

These are Tanganikan Cichlids rather than Malawis - from what I've read the
two regions should not be mixed but I've never tried and I'm sure that there
are people out there who have done this successfully (or maybe not)

Sorry can't be more helpful

Depends. They are Tanganikan rather than Malawi so the water parameters
are a bit different, but (especially if tank bred) Cichlids from both
lakes will take quite a wide range, and these ranges overlap.

The other tank mates are more important. If you put them in with Mbuna
they will suffer big time as they are also rock dwellers and no where near
as aggressive. If you put them in with members of the open water Hap
flock they will probably do OK, so long as there is lots of cover.

They should be fine with your Malawi cichlids. But if you have a
breeding pair of Brichardi they may kill their tankmates.

A problem that may occur, if mixing these with herbivorous mbuna, is the
mbuna eating the tangs meaty diet and threfore getting digestive problems -
ie malawi bloat.
